Mawari and KDDI: Building the Future of Spatial Computing Together
At Mawari, we’re excited to share our latest milestone: signing a groundbreaking MoU for partnership with KDDI Corporation, one of Japan’s leading telecommunications companies. We are working together to build a Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN) that will pave the way for the next era of spatial computing. The Mawari Network.
Why This Partnership Matters
The rapid rise of spatial computing, a technology that seamlessly integrates the physical and digital worlds, is fueling the demand for a strong and decentralized infrastructure.
At Mawari, we’re leading this charge by developing a network that decentralizes content delivery, storage, and rendering processes for 3D streaming and XR (Extended Reality) applications.
Our partnership with KDDI is a significant step forward. KDDI will serve as the infrastructure management partner, hosting our Guardian Nodes on their secure and reliable servers. This collaboration ensures a safe environment for Node Runners (both companies and individuals) to participate in the network, enhancing its stability and reliability.
A Broader Collaboration for Smart Cities and Beyond
Our DePIN project with KDDI involves contributions from several companies with diverse expertise, ranging from digital infrastructure to generative AI and XR applications. Together, we aim to create innovative solutions for smart cities and next-generation digital services. Here are a few of our collaborators:
Bitmedia: Known for their role in Tokyo’s 5G Boosters Project, they’re leveraging their digital infrastructure expertise to strengthen the Mawari Network.
Metacode: Focused on merging traditional values with technology to promote virtuous smart city projects.
Teleport: Integrating generative AI to enhance XR distribution for urban development projects like the Itoshima Science Village.
And many others are contributing to this shared vision of decentralization and innovation.
The Big Picture
This partnership with KDDI is more than just a technological collaboration—it’s a step toward creating a truly decentralized, global infrastructure for immersive media. As spatial computing continues to evolve, so does the need for platforms like the Mawari Network that prioritize reliability, scalability, and community-driven development.
From our work with Digital Human as a Service to this new chapter with KDDI, we’ve always been committed to pushing boundaries in immersive content delivery. And this is just the beginning.
Stay tuned for more updates as we build the infrastructure of the future, one node at a time.
What Is DePIN?
For those new to the concept, DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network) refers to a network of independent nodes—servers or devices—that work together to maintain the infrastructure. Unlike traditional centralized systems, DePIN enables greater scalability, flexibility, and resilience.
This approach is key to supporting the spatial computing ecosystem, which demands real-time responsiveness and massive data processing.
Be Part of the Future: Join Our Upcoming Guardian Node Network!
We’re not just building the infrastructure of the future—we’re inviting you to help us power it.
Mawari is launching a Guardian Node License Sale, providing an opportunity for individuals and businesses to join the Mawari Network as Node Runners. By operating a node, you’ll become part of a community-driven network that supports real-time immersive content streaming and next-gen XR applications.
Node Runners are critical to our mission of decentralization, helping ensure the network’s stability, scalability, and reliability. If you’re passionate about contributing to the future of spatial computing, this is your chance to get involved.
Full details about our Guardian Node Sale will come soon. Don’t miss this chance to play a key role in revolutionizing immersive media delivery!
